Tips to make Boca de Tomatlan my go to beach/hangout

Knowing as little as I do about anything in the outlying PV area, I thought to myself that, perhaps, Boca would be fun to make a regular (bi/tri weekly) part of this trip's itinerary. All tips/suggestions/cautions appreciated.

Lots of sand fleas so be prepared, you'll get eaten.

Run down, sand fleas, bunch of dogs running around and not much to see or do.

Don't know what the attraction is?

We enjoyed it for something different for one day, but don't think I would choose it for my go to spot.

P.S. Now one the other hand, we loved Bucerias so much that we will probably head there a few times!

After getting off the water taxi following a day trip to Yelapa, we spent an hour or two on the beach at Boca. We sat under the big umbrellas of a restaurant called El Huachinango (The Red Snapper). We only ate guac and chips, while consuming several cold Pacificos. We enjoyed just chilling on the beach and watching the kids play in the surf. We thought Boca was nice peaceful get-away.

What you might like it going to Boca de Tomaltan and taking the water taxi to one of the beautiful beaches south such as, Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas, or Yelapa. Majahuitas is a a private resort but you can use the beach there but not their facilities.

Have you been to Boca before? I ask because it's no place I'd want to be hanging out for a bunch of days myself.

I have several friends who live there, it's nice and laidback, not what most tourists would enjoy.

Interesting fact (at least i thought so) - waiter at one of the beach restaurants at Boca told me they just got electricity 20 years ago - meaning 1994!!! Yikes!
