Los Muertos Brewing (Brewpub)

Hello,

Sorry I miss the pub crawl, I'd have loved it, but I'm not a regular in Mexico so might have felt out of place somewhat: anyway here's my question.

Can anyone recommend the Los Muertos brewpub to me?

Our ship docks for a day in March and we intend to end up there by walking along the Malecon to the Sea Horse statue and just carry on until we cross the river and find 'Lazaro Cardenas' and the aforementioned brewpub.

Does that plan work? We are fit a abel, so a few miles walking isn't a problem, if it's safe (which I assume it is. A taxi back to the ship later of course.

Thank you in anticipation of a couple of replies.

<*))))))><

I like your little fish logo....

Yes, absolutely --- head to Los Muertos Brewing and enjoy your time there. Beer is great (I think I had the pumpkin brew when there recently --- very tasty as are some of the original flavors) and the food is excellent. You'll find pizza and large tasty sandwiches to your taste. Not much of a meat eater here, so I love the big, juicy veggie sandwich.

Prices are reasonable and the ambience both downstairs and up on the second floor (where the main bar is) is relaxing and fun. If you've got a group, head upstairs and sit outside on the big tile banquette that wraps around the corner. Plenty of TV's in the pub, to enjoy your favorite sporting event if you like that sort of thing.

Yes, it's quite safe. If you're a brew pub person, you'll love it. Make sure to chat with Conner, the owner. Very nice guy. Stephanie (Conner's wife) is fun to chat with also, if she's there. Wait staff is attentive and very friendly. Enjoy. (You'll get plenty of other comments also --- it's very popular, even though only about a year and a half old).

LMB usually has an afternoon special with a beer, slice of pizza and a side for 50 pesos. Absolutely go in and see Conner, it's a great setup. The staff will help you get a taxi back to the ship in time too.

Yes your plan works just fine. There are no worries about things being "safe".

I suggest you take a bus (Centro) from in front of Soriana. It is 7.5 Pesos and it will take you to the Malecon (It turns at the park, get off at the next stop and walk down 1 block to the Malecon.

At the Los Arcos Amphitheater (The arches) keep walking on the sidewalk (following traffic)- cross the bridge (Stop and look for iguanas in the trees) and walk about three short blocks to Cardenas. Take a left and it is up one block on the corner of Constitucion. Taxi back or take a bus back from the next corner (Heading inland) where the OXXO is- just make sure it says WalMart/Sam's on the bus. Get off at the Casino and walk across the highway to the dock entrance.

I agree with taking the bus from the cruise ship port. It's a long walk on a busy street lined with resorts. Not much to see. This will give you more time in the pub :)

BTW: try the Agave Maria beer and their pizza is fabulous! (Same with the salads)
