Back to Vallarta-this time with kids??

I have searched the forum and thought maybe I could get a better answer. Boys will be 11,13 when we want to go in January. Want all inclusive. Always stayed at Dreams PV and my understanding is the Hyatt Ziva will be open by then but don't want to take chance. Very important to have ocean that can be swam in (understand possibly not all the time). Budget is somewhere around $4500 for 7 nights not including airfare. Now Amber just about meets the price criteria but not sure about the water. Problem with Now Amber is older boy considered adult. Any ideas on a nicer all inclusive where the ocean is nice and fits our price range. Thank you in advance.

The Now Amber is very nice (and very modern feeling). The beach isn't great there. If you don't mind being in Nuevo (45mins. away) the beach is great (long and flat and you can walk for miles and swimming is very nice there). The Riu Palace would come in well under (around $3100 total) and you can use the facilities of the Riu Vallarta and Riu Jalisco or the Dreams Villamagna with a junior suite and huge, great pools for about $3700. You are about 10mins. from the little town of Bucerias as well. When we stay out there we take the bus into PV a couple times in a weeks since it's cheap and fun.

If you are looking to be right in PV then the NA is probably your best bet with kids that age.

Also consider the Melia in the Marina area... all-inclusive and very popular with families traveling with kids of ALL ages (not your typical toddlers kids clubs), family rooms, buffet and ala carte restaurants and a much nicer beach; the older kids club includes a rock climbing wall and batting cage and the activities group schedules different days for beach volleyball, water polo and other beach/pool activities, evening entertainment and a kids disco, at one time they did have an evening bbq and movie and a camp outside night (maybe someone can add more that has stayed more recently), the hotel is also much closer to downtown PV.

Since you liked Dreams PV so much, have a look at Garza Blanca. They have a really beautiful beach/swimming area very similar to DPV.

The Melia also offers use of boogie boards, life jackets and kayaks free of charge... beach vendors (not associated with the hotel) offer rentals of jet skis, banana boat rides, parasailing and flyboarding etc at an additional cost.

Garza Blanca would be a good choice because of it's great location & beach. Most of the beaches south of PV are much better.
