Guanajuato---children, whether to bring or not

What would you suggest would keep middle school age children busy in Guanajuato? The Mummy museum sounds like an experience, but what other attractions would be good?

Yes - take kids to Guanajuato; it would be a wonderful experience for them in a very authentic Mexican city.

What to do? Try language classes at the Instituto Falcon - they have classes especially for children at very reasonable rates; you can take as many or as few classes as you like.

Relive Mexican history in the museums and churches.

Hang out in the Plaza - eat Mexican ice cream and watch the daily life of Guanajuato go by.

Go for walks and easy climbs in the mountains.

Go shopping in the Mercado.

Take a bus to nearby towns of San Miguel and Dolores Hidalgo; two very different but interesting towns. Try some of the weird and wonderful flavors of ice cream in the plaza in Dolores Hidalgo and visit the church from where the cry of independence went out.

Wonderful hotsprings near San Migues - kids would love La Gruta where you can there is a hot waterfall in a cave.
