visitor from south africa

We are traveling through Atlanta to Mexico. We have transit visa for USA. What do I need to enter MExico? Coming for down syndrome world championship athletics in puerto Vallarta.

Assuming you are a South African passport holder you will need a visa. See http://portal.sre.gob.mx/sudafrica/ for contact details of the Mexican embassy in South Africa.

Less headaches for you.

As of May 1, if you have a valid USA visa, you can visit Mexico as well and not get a Mexican visa. Brazilians and Colombians are the ones who take the most advantage of this and skip the visa process for Mexico.

The Mexican Embassy in Pretoria states this on their web site:

As of May 1st, 2010, holders of a valid visa of the United States of America (any nationality) shall not require visa to enter Mexico.

If you do not hold a U.S. visa and your nationality requires a Mexican visa to travel to Mexico, you must apply as described on the REQUIREMENTS tab.
