Just got back from our first trip through Mexico City. Stayed at the Gillow Hotel near the historical center. Thought it was very reasonably priced at about $75 USD per night for two. Well located, very clean etc. Recommend. Did not eat there in the large cafe. However the real reason I'm posting is the El Cardenal Restaurant. It has about three floors, is very popular with lines out the door at certain times of the day, and serves high quality food for a reasonable price. About two blocks from the Gillow. They close about 6:30 pm and only do breakfast and lunch. Ate there 3 times in our two days passing through. Highly recommended.
