getting to San Cristobal via Villahermosa via Palenque

There are 6 in my group, flying from Veracruz to Villahermosa to get to Palenque. Spend one night, tour ruins 1/2 day and get to San Cristobal and need a reliable tour company or any suggestions?

Is there air service connecting Villahermosa with Veracruz, without having to go through Mexico City? Direct service? I don't know if there is. Even if there is service, it'll be expensive. Why not take a bus from Veracruz to Palenque, instead of flying?

There are frequent "ADO" bus company first-class bus departures connecting Veracruz with Villahermosa, with the trip taking about 6 hours and costing approx. MX$420. ADO provides, also, frequent connecting service to Palenque from Villahermosa, with that segment of the trip taking about 2.5 hours and costing approx. MX$100.

From Palenque there are other busses of "ADO" ("OCC") and/or vans that'll take you to las Casas.

You might want to consult a travel agent in California who has experience booking travel in Mexico - if you think doing that is better than planning it yourself. There are many other things about this trip that you haven't told us about, including hotels, etc., and the travel agent should be able to be a valuable resource.
