Have questions about Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Mayan

I will be going to IB Paraiso Beach end of april and have some questions that I hope someone can answer..

1) which is best building to stay in. We want to be close to kids club for my 4 yr old but also not far from beach and buffet. Any suggestions ? Also, what's best way to reserve this?

2) What's at the shopping centre ? Specifically.

3) Is there a doctor on site?

4) Is voltage and plug outlets the same as U.S.

5) I know that we don't have access to the Lindo resort but do they actually check? Are they strict or is there a way around it ? We'd love to access the kids club for my daughter and the lazy river.

Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks !!

I think you'd get a quicker answer by posting on the Paraiso Forum.

I have not stayed at this particular resort but I have stayed at the Lindo and the Grand so I can help you with a few of the questions. The commercial centre includes a taco shop, burger place, crepe place and a tapa shop which are all included with the resort fee. It also has some shopping, a teen disco, the adult disco, a chapel and a spa. You may be interested in the merry-go-round for your 4 year old. It is located at the entrace of the commercial centre. It is worth a trip to the centre for the tacos alone. We also enjoyed the crepes and ice cream on a number of occasions.

There is a doctor on site. The medical centre is located across from the commercial centre.

The voltage and plugs are the same as here in Canada.

If you want to use the lazy river and the wave pool you should stay at the Lindo instead. Guest of the Lindo and Maya pay more so that they can use these facilities. I have not see anyone escorted from the Lindo but I did hear that this happens. I would find this very embarrassing. I did see many people escorted off the Grand property. There are clearly marked signs at the entrance to the resort to restrict use to the guests of that resort. You can go down to the cheaper resorts to eat or drink etc but you can not use the more expensive resorts for obvious reasons.

Ontario Sun lovers, thank you for the information which was very helpful. We did consider staying at the Lindo but it would have cost us an extra $600.00 and we don't think it's worth it for just one week.
