Mayan ruins by taxi?

I´m staying in the Sirenis Riviera Maya for a week, and I´ve seen the trips to visit Chichen Itza or Coban are really expensive...would it be possible to do the same trip by taxi? Would it be cheaper?

Don't know what you consider expensive but most likely a taxi will be mucho mas expensive. If you don't like the tour prices consider a rental car. Coba is relatively close to PDC.

Chichen Itza 100$, and Coba 80$, isn´t it expensive?

How far is Chichen Itza?

I did the Tulum tour by taxi last time I was there. We hired someone once we got there to give the tour. It was cheaper, but we got what we paid for. I would only do the real tours from now on.
