Bubba Kegs

We will be at the Riu Caribe April 5-11th....I read a few reviews that said they brought Bubba Kegs so they didn't have to keep going to the bar constantly.....I bought a 34 oz for my BF and a smaller one for myself...did anyone have any problems having them filled?

I always bring mine and never have a problem. Where did you get yours? I am having trouble finding another. Monica

We have stayed at the Riu Palace Las Americas 6 times in the past three years, and have gotten to know Abundio, Rudolpho, and the rest of the bar staff quite well. I can tell you that they have less-than-polite comments reserved for those guests lugging around "Bubba kegs". It doesn't matter if you drop a $20 each time you refill, you are still being scoffed at after you walk away.

As you know, the drinks are included in the price of your stay. There is also beach service, so there's no need to "Keep going to the bar constantly". A few singles along with a smile will have the server at your beach chair every 5 minutes.

My suggestion is to lose the kegs, and drink out of glasses provided by the resort.

I agree - no bubba kegs! Bring a stylish thermal cup (12 - 16 oz.) and pour your drink into it to keep the sand out and the cold in.

No pool or beach service at the Caribe. One of the reasons people take the kegs.....and very eco-friendly....no throwing away 10 plastic glasses every day.

Bubba Kegs imply gluttony and the desire to get trashed in a hurry. Don't think for a moment that the hotel staff isn't labelling you, not to mention the other guests who play by the rules. In other words, 3 votes against the BK.

Getting five single drinks, or fill a Bubba Keg once, what the heck is the difference, except less work for the servers> I'm taking a Bubba Keg next week. Cheers!

Yeah, what the heck is the difference... except now, as you walk away with your trough of Margarita's, you'll be looking over your shoulder to see if the bartender is pointing at you and all around him are in hysterics....
