Towels at RPLA

In some reviews I have read that there is this card that you have to use to get a beach towel and you can only get one. Does anyone know who has stayed at the RPLA if this is true? Should I bring a beach towel from home? Are they nice big ones??

1 per card, but I am sure you can turn 1 in and get a fresh one.

No need to bring a towel. You can trade a wet towel for a dry one, no problem, but sometimes they are unavailable at peak times. Don't turn your card in at night if you want to reserve a chair the next day. Your towel will have to be on the chair by 7:00 a.m. to reserve it. I don't approve of this practice, but it occurs at all the hotels, even the nice ones.
