Bubba Kegs

We have used them in PV, Playa, Cabo, Mazatlan and the DR., were widely accepted and handy. Are they acceptable for our trip to Cancun? Don't want to use them if considered "tacky" even though they are! Rather drink beer in bottles, like in Mazatlan. What do some of you folks suggest, we will be at the Gran Caribe Real in November.

Would appreciate knowing what the "drill" is there. Thanks in advance.

Also keep in mind that the GCR does not have a swim-up bar so you have to give your bubba keg to the waiter for a drink fill-up or go to the bar yourself.

The waiters are used to it and a nice tip will ensure it is full all the time.....lol

The ones we have look like miniature beer barrels with handles on them. Bright colors, hot pink, lime green, etc. We have 24 oz. which is just right, but, they do come larger.

judy has a great size, as we do ! perfect, not too big where you are embarrassed, but not too small - I thought it was 20 oz, but could be wrong.....

Or, you could go to a truck stop and buy a 40oz bubba keg like I have. They fill it every time. Just saying.

We stick with the 20-24 oz insulated mugs and yes every place we have stayed at in Cancun keeps filling them up!!

Can anyone compare the Bubba Keg to the 24 oz. insulated Tervis cups with travel lids? We use the Tervis ones all the time here in Florida and have even had them personalized with names/ sayings on them. Wondering if the Bubba kegs would be any better?

The Gran Caribe Real may have the option of getting a container of ice with 4 or 5 beers in it. They do that at the sister hotel the Royal next door.
