Old Cancun Pictures

I like to look at pictures of old Vegas and how the Vegas strip has changed. Does anyone know of a site that has old pictures of Cancun. I am a bit of a history nerd. Thanks

Try here. If it doesn't open go to google and put:

Viejas fotos cancun

It is the first option

wow those pics are awesome, i first went to cancun in 1993 and it has changed SO much since then. I stayed at the Camino Real twice (now Dreams). Amazing to see it all alone at Punta Cancun. To this day is still a wonderful property!

Not any of Cancun (1984 Chichen Itza looks to be the closest), but there are a bunch of old Mexican vacation photos at:

There's a bunch of other stuff from the USA, Europe, etc, as well.

sorry for the sarcasm to those who enjoy tripadvisor and the wealth of information we get but there is way too much of it on these boards. It gets annoying.

Cool pictures. So it looks like Dreams is the oldest property in Cancun?

First time I was there was in 1991 and we stayed at the Krystal Cancun. It was one of the best back then. And yes, in 20 years the place has changed a lot.

Apparently not....surprisingly! I found this on wikipedia...

"Due to the reluctance of investors to bet on an unknown area, the Mexican government had to finance the first nine hotels."[3] The first hotel financed was the Hyatt Cancún Caribe, but the first hotel actually built was the Playa Blanca, which later became a Blue Bay hotel, and is now Temptation Resort. At the time it was an elite destination, famous for its virgin white sand beaches.

My sister in law was there back in 1979 when it was very new....and went to Chichen Itza with her girlfriend. She loved it and won't recognize it when she comes for a wedding in July!

Fiesta Americana also was one of the first few resorts to build in Cancun
