We have got Pesos from post office, Seemed to have the best rate at the moment.

for spending money take pesos, if you are going to tip, take $1 bills. we took about £150 in 1s and the rest in pesos

I def agree about using pesos and just using $1 bills to tip. That way, the tip money and spending money are kept separate. It works for us!

Also, I always find Marks and Spencer has the best rates for changing currency.

The Smallest peso note is 5 pesos which = just under $5 so if you are tiping them all the time it adds up. that why we take a wad of £1s
