The Royal becoming a Hyatt?

Ok, I've booked the Royal for February '14.

We have relatives staying at the Gran Caribe next door.

If the Royal becomes a Hyatt will we still be able to go back and forth between the sister resorts?

The changeover is happening in November. It would IMO make no sense for the two resorts to allow back and forth as they are two totally separate companies.

Ahh But

They are not competing companies at the time of purchase. They should allow it. The two resorts, one with kids, one without. This was one of the deciding factors in the selection process.

Hmmm whatever. We will enjoy our time no matter.

Thanks for answering!

My best hunch is there will be no going back and forth if Hyatt is taking over The Royal. Getting them to honor that request is doubtful.

Real Resorts posted a press release on their Facebook page, and I think they addressed this issue saying the clients at the Hyatt/Royal would still be able to use the Gran Caribe, but they would NOT be able to visit and use the facilities of the Royal in PDC. Ask on their Facebook page- they are pretty good about answering questions.

The Gran Caribe's guests were never able to use the facilities at the Royal, only Royal's guests were able to use the Caribe's, so this was solely Real's call.

It sounds like nothing will change for now.

Well, actually, if you get one of the nicer suites at the Gran Caribe Real you can eat at the resturants at the Royal. We've done it.

I do not have Facebook, so am unable to post a question there

If anyone would like to do that for me I would appreciate it.

Thanks for all the replies.

As a real member I understand nothing will change with the royal and the Gran Caribe.

Will note any changes when I book for May travel in January.

So nothing at all with change with The Royal becoming a Hyatt?? The food? service?and outstanding clean rooms?? The Royal is by far the best resort I have ever stayed at and I am disappointed just thinking about the takeover.

I know, right

I just hope it's as nice after the take over. Since I've already paid for Feb.
