Cancun for a group of 18 year old girls?

Would Cancun be a good holiday destination for a group if about 5/6 girls aged 17/18, just before Uni and work.

We want to go in July after exams and don't know whether Cancun would be good for us and where is best to go an what to see?

We want to clubbing but not every night, do meals and see lots if things.

Any help?

You will have to choose your resort carefully as a lot don't allow 18 year olds to check in (and certainly not 17 year olds) you would have to be 21 or 25. However the Riu's are one you can start with as they do allow 18 year olds to check in (you would have to have one 18 year old in each room). Also, the 17 year olds would not be able to get an adult band for the all inclusive, so no drinks and they may not get in to the clubs, but being girls, they may let you in.

Actually the 17 year old may have difficulty boarding a plane in the US for Mexico without parents/guardians and certainly will not be allowed to check into a hotel without a parent/guardian over 21 (some resorts say 25). You might seriously reconsider going alone and have parents go, too....even if you don't hang out together, you will be allowed to book a nicer resort and actually check in.
