Quiet, low key hotel suggestions needed

We are planning our first trip to Cancun (Late May- early June) and weighing the options – wow, there are so many! My partner and I have been visiting Puerto Vallarta annually for 15 years and normally go the condo route in old town/Zona Romantica – this year we want to try Cancun. Since this is our first time to Cancun, we’re considering hotel options. We might even consider an AI if it’s low key, has upscale rooms and pool, with good food and drinks, and without loud music, activities, megaphones, shows, etc. Are there any AI options that fit the bill? Also we’d like hotel suggestions that are low-key as well without the loud music and shows – a quiet pool. Thanks and I can’t wait to see your suggestions! We could use the help.

You will want to look at adults only for a low key resort or even go up to Playa del Carmen.

LeBlanc in Cancun is very upscale and low key or even Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen

Cancun is pretty much Vegas on the sand and after spending so much time in Vallarta you might not care for the glitz of Cancun and Playa del Carmen or somewhere more south will fit the bill for you.

But the beaches of Cancun are beautiful!

Presidente Intercontinental - we have stayed there twice for a week each tome and it is very low key. Get a club floor room on the ocean side and you get breakfast and cocktail hour with hors d'ouvres as well as a balcony. Staff is wonderful, restaurants are good, and one of the best beaches in Cancun.

Le Blanc / Live Aqua in Cancun

Further south in Playa Del Carmen - Banyan Tree / Rosewood Mayakoba / Grand Velas

The resorts of Akumal and Tulum have fabulous beaches and are relatively low key. You might also consider Isla Mujeres if Cancun is too brash for you.

Le Blanc and Live Aqua in the hotel zone would be great options, with LB being a higher end resort - better food and drink, excellent service, luxe bedding in rooms, top notch pool and beach service for all guests.

El Dorado Maroma in the Riviera Maya is our favorite adult only in the Riviera Maya and would suit you perfectly based upon your list of priorities.

Grand Velas is our hands down favorite AI anywhere and is exceptional in every way and very low key. But it is not AO.
