night life

Hi we will be arriving in Cancun Sun 5th oct staying at the Sun Palace, we got married 4yrs ago at the Moon Palace and never moved away from the hotel but this time are hoping to have a few nights out, I would like to ask a couple of questions please, firstly is the nightlife far from the hotel zone, is it easy to get to, and second recommendations for eats/drinks, we would prefer bars rather than nightclubs but any suggestions would be welcome

Thanks Sheila&Chris

The night life is basically just below the corner of the 7 on the east side of the strip. Take the bus it's easy and quick, or a taxi.

Bus is about $ .85. Taxi is about $10 - $12.

I would google trip advisor best restaurants and best bars in cancun. There are a lot of good restaurant with different price ranges.

All the best places for drinks and food is around hotel zone. There are many choices, but its better to get a list of places where to go in advance, because they have many crap restaurants and bars as well, and some places are not a walking distance from each other. Like some good restaurants are around Km 14 of Kulkucan, some of them in Isla shopping village, for night life and bars km 9.

We've always used the Congo Bar (opposite Coco Bongo). It's a $30 cover charge if you want to stay all night, most bars are around that price or you can just pay as you go. Not sure about restaurants as we've only really eaten outside at Hooters or Carlos & Charlie's.
