Is the water warm enough to snorkel in November?

I want to dive and my husband wants to snorkel but he does not like cold water. Thanks.

Well we are from Texas where our swimming pool is like bath water all summer. Hubby found the water off Isla Mujeres too cool to swim in November and December. Maybe I'll just plant him on a beach and go dive.

Water temps in November should be between 80 and 82 degrees. "Maybe I'll just plant him on a beach and go dive." Good plan!

Cheers!

Sams right! We snorkeled in January and February many times when we were leaving northern Minnesota winters. But I think it may be perspective...

We go in January, and have no problem snorkelling. The water is not bath water warm, but definitely do-able.

We always travel in November and find the waters in that area to be much warmer than the hotel pools.

Hey Texan,

It (ocean) usually is fine, but the pools are frigid. In November i do take a neoprene vest that I wear when snorkeling. It keeps the core much warmer and allows me to comfortably stay in longer in November. he might want to give it a try.

We go in November or December most years. We snorkel every morning. Love it, don't usually get cold at all. One year it was a little cool. I did about an hour and that was it before I needed to warm up. We're from Michigan though so "warm" could be perspective, but I will say I get cold easily. Some years we've been in the water most of day and I had no issues.
