Northwest Announces Baggage Changes

Northwest is following the trend and announced for North American travel--including to and from Mexico--one checked bag up to 50 lbs. will be allowed free. The second bag will be at a 25 dollar additional charge. This effective for tickets issued after March 29.

On the travel forum where I just read about Northwest, they indicated that CO is the only one not considering it. You may be the only one in luck!

I read yesterday that American is considering it, which to me means that they'll be doing that as well.

This is NOT good! Do these people not understand that I have just one bag dedicated for my shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, make-up, hairdryer, flat iron, hair gel, face wash, lotion, bug spray, first-aid kit, duct tape and bubble wrap?! What are they thinking! Where will I put it??

I guess I better just get one pair of sandals that will match everything I wear, rather than a pair for each outfit. Oh better cut down on the bathing suits also, I usually have a different one for each day. This really is putting a cramp on my style!

I am also sure American will follow. As I posted to my reply to Dan, the only major not considering it is apparently Continental.

The thing that amused me was that NWA said that the changes were only for "domestic" flights - but included Mexico! Seems that invading and taking half the country all those years ago wasn't enough......

Yes, their descriptions are a little confusing. But in a press release I saw, they said North American, whish is accurate.

Co-pilot..that is a great idea..and I agree with your post. Now, since I only weigh 125 lbs. I feel that I should get an extra 75 lbs of luggage since most men weigh around 200 lbs. Sounds fair to me!
