Walking to Atlantis Submarine Office

Has anyone walked from the ferry pier to the Atlantis Sub Office. One review said it was an approximately 5 minute walk from the International Pier. I was online with an excursion employee and they said to take the taxi. This was before we heard about the 5 minute walk. Does anyone know if it really is a 5 minute walk? Would rather walk than pay another $40 total for us to get there and back.

I know exactly where the office is and I'd estimate I can walk there from the International Pier area in 5 to 6 minutes. However there are 2 other cruise ship piers, one being a bit south of the International pier and it would be about another 4 or so minutes in walk time BUT the other pier is much further away. Langosta Pier is downtown, and from it to the Atlantis office is likely about 2 1/2 miles which I walk often, but it's not something everyone likes doing.

If you are indeed talking about the ferry pier (ferry from Playa Del Carmen) as you stated, and not one of the cruise ship piers, that is quite a long walk. More than a couple of miles. Definitely not 5-6 minutes. The ferry pier is on the far side of town, and is not the same as any of the cruise ship piers.

In this photo the Atlantis office is on the left, barely visible but it's right on the other end of the gold(ish) building

And in this photo which was taken from the same spot you can see a work ship tied up at the International pier & the tall hotel building on the right side is just this side of the entrance to the International pier & it's shopping area.

If you're talking ferry pier there are now 2 of those, one in the downtown area & the other at the south edge of town, and still almost a 2 mile walk to the Atlantis office.

Is the Atlantis office at Chankanaab park or near La Ceiba?

It would not cost $40. total. even if you were talking about the farthest pier.

The office is across the street from Casa Del Mar. The ONLY pier for big ships / boats within 5 minutes walking distance is the International pier. Puerto Maya pier is under 10 minutes but all the rest generally are a taxi ride for most unless they enjoy long walks in the heat / sun.

We are not on a cruise ship, but coming in on the ferry from Playa del Carmen. Sounds like, from the other responses that it is a good distance from the ferry pier. thanks for your help
