This is the 20th year we have been traveling to Cozumel. How can I still love it so much?
We left August 11th for 7 days in Cozumel, arriving on time, with no problems with immigration, customs. Went very fast. After we went outside, we walked off the property, for the first time to catch our own ride. No problem. $15.00 to El Cantil.
We arrived at condo in 5-10 minutes. Checkin was so fast. We were shown to our condo on the 7th floor of the North tower.Wonderful view as soon as you walk in the door. Huge balcony with a hottub on one end. After we settled in, we went to the Chedrau for groceries. We had so much fun shopping, it felt like an excursion on it's own.
This is the first time we have stayed in a condo, so we checked out the area and the water and just kicked back. In the evening there was loud music coming from across the street. It was some kind of kid party. I think before school starts party, maybe. The next day was Sunday and they had a concert at the same place. Lots of people having fun. I loved it.
We ate at only 2 new restaurants. Blue Angel and La Choza. Both very good. We went to rent a car from Isis on recommendations. We asked maybe 6 cab drivers to take us to the rentadora and finally found someone who somewhat new where he was going. When we arrived I found out I couldn't rent a car with my debit card, because the numbers are not embedded. With a $100 deposit we could rent, but that was all Id brought with me. So we went off walking in town. Found Wet Wendy's. Never been there before. Love it. Very relaxing. Met the owner of the cigar shop. He was a very personable guy. We'll be back. Then went shopping in the shops in the far back. Stopped by Casa Dennis.
The next day we rented from the guy across the street. We always rent from him anyway. Drove to the East side and had a blast at Coconuts.
All in all, this was up there with my favorite trips to Cozumel. I loved the Condos at El Cantil and all the staff. All we wanted to do for the week was accomplished. Rest and relaxation. No children running around the pool. No loud music.(during the day, anyway) We will definately be back to El Cantil, but will always be open to the Palace as well.(Depending on price) Love the location. It cant be beat.
Until next year.
