Best place to snorkel?

Our ship has a stop in Cozumel. Where is the best place to snorkel for 18-20 yr olds. All four are competitive swimmers.

There is plenty of shore snorkeling in various areas on the island but I think for experienced, and late teens I'd probably say go to Palancar Beach Club and get on the snorkeling tour boat there. (like $30-$35/pp with equipment) Even if you did that first, then on your way back to the cruise ship, if you wanted to, you could stop at Playa Corona or Money Bar and shore snorkel there.

we enjoyed a laid back afternoon at Money Bar (10 minutes south of the cruise docks) - snorkeling off the beach - no boats - NO COST

Punta sur is the best as far as I'm concerned. Beautiful beach, but it is a long swim to the reef from shore. There are kyak guys that will take you out to the reef if you are not up for the swim out to the reef. They will stay out there and bring you back as well. There are also floating docks if you want to relax out on the reef as well. Very shallow and pristine since they don't do boat snorkel tours due to the shallow depths.
