safes in villas at avalon?

Does anyone know if there are working safes at Avalon in the villas. How can we keep our valuables safe if there is no safe?

We stayed in a villa last october for 5 days. I never used the safe. I just hid my money. I never felt like anything would happen. Maybe Im nieve. Just didnt seem like a place anything bad would happen.

Most places do have safes . . . every hotel/apartment we have stayed at on Isla does. Personally, I would leave most of the valuables at home, and only worry about locking up your passport and $$. Petty theft does happen, even on Isla.

Each room and villa at the Avalon have safe boxes. They come without a lockset, which is obtained at the front desk upon check in. We always kept our valuables in the room safe and have never had a problem.

Thanks Rocker, thats what I was looking for. I remember seeing something on here about safes without locks. Of course I want a safe, I dont want to carry passports, money, and other small valubles every where we go all week.

Make sure that you ask for a lock right away for the safe - they were out of them the first day that we checked in, and had to wait a few days to get one - just hid our $$ and passports until then - no problems
