whale shark swim

For swimming with the whale sharks I know you must wear a wet suit or life jacket. We have our own life vests that we travel with. Does anyone know if we will be allowed to wear our own. They are the kind with the tube that you blow in to inflate. I would rather wear this than those big combersome orange stuffed ones. Any help would be appreciated.

My guess is that one of the reasons this regulated marine park requires either a life jacket or a wetsuit is that with either it's nearly impossible to dive down and further molest the whale sharks--so it's actually intended impedance. With a snorkel vest, it would be too easy to simply deflate and then follow the whale sharks under water. But ultimately, it will be up to the tour operator to regulate, so only your chosen operator can fully answer you. And Capt. Tony is known for not being prompt in answering emails--he's more of a face-to-face, day-before-the-trip kind of guy. Welcome to Isla.

Phone and email isn't the best way to contact Capitan Tony...go down to his house a day or two before. Have fun!
