I love Poc Chuc on Juarez, is it a taqueria? I'm not sure.

Most don't open until 7:00 or so. I know there is one coming south past the Soggy Peso and past the school on the corner on the right. I have never tried it, tho. Then a couple more blocks turn right on the road to Villa Vera and there is a great one on the left. The name is Pelayo. Food is wonderful. There is also one just passed Chedraui on the left. Don't know the name, but the food is great. Those are the ones I know are open at lunch time. Of course Kash Keken Chuc. I saw someone order tacos at lunch there the other day. I didn't know you could.

Oh, and yes, I would consider Poc Chuc a taqueria.

The loncherias are open for lunch. My favorites are La Union and Tacos Tumbras. I have not had lunch at them though, only breakfast.

La Nueva Esperanza is open for lunch. Awesome carnitas.

Another vote for El Poc Chuc. It's one of my favorites too.

You can never go wrong with Poc Chuc. There is also a place on Hidalgo called Taqueria Medina. I tried it for the first time in December and the food was excellent and very inexpesive. I think I paid $12 -14 pesos per taco.

I was there later in the evening as I was working my way down Hidalgo somewhere between margaritas six and seven.

Yes, Mapchick, that is right. And I have been past Kash Keken Chuc a couple evenings and there is still only the menu...no name.

Don't believe Taqueria Medina is opened for lunch. Yesterday, there were opening the doors as I went by around 6 and their meat al pastor wasn't even cooked. I had plans to eat there but passed when they told me it would be another 20 minutes for the meat to cook.

If you go to Alexia and Giovani, don't have the chilaquiles. What a disappointment. They were so bad I barely ate my plate, paid, and walked straight to Bally Hoo because there was no way I was going to let that be my last meal on the island. I've been there before and it was ok but that plate was a soggy watery mess.
