Reservation of ADO bus from Merida and Chichen Itza

I would like to travel from Merida to Chichen Itza and from Chichen Itza to Tulum. Where and when to buy tickets? On websites, which ones and how the ticket look likes, is there any problemy with bus counter?

Or buy in station (where in Merida and Chichen Itza)? Thank you

Mexicans dont tend to buy tickets far in advance so usually no problem getting a seat at the last minute. Of course, during holiday periods such as Easter, they can be full. I would buy both the Chichen and Tulum tickets in Merida.

You can buy you tickets and select your seats at one of several ADO locations in Merida. The Chichen buses depart from the ADO Came terminal.

When are the operating hours of ADO offices? Is any ADO office at the airport?

At the Merida airport, I really dont remember but likely is since they have some bus service there. At the main ADO Came ticket , you can purchase 24 hours a day or at the ADO Fiesta Americana location 6AM to midnight.

Another option is, you can reserve on the ADO website and then you have 24 hours to purchase at any OXXO convenience store. And you are never far from one of those.

Or at www.ado.com.mx . But I read many have problems if using a non Mexico credit card. My reason for suggesting other options.

Hi,

I am also trying to find what times the buses go from Merida to Chichen Itza but when i use the Ado website and also the Ticketbus one both say that there is no service from there. Of course there is? Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a copy of an up to date timetable of buses?

I also need to know times of buses to Tulum from Chichen Itza.

thanks

James

My guess is the usual - You're putting in a date too far in advance. Try for one within the next 7 days. I usually put in a date that corresponds to whatever day of the week we'll be traveling. ADO shows the M to Ch-I buses at 6:30 & 9:15...The Ch-I to T ones at 8:25 and 16:30....

"Does anyone have a copy of an up to date timetable of buses?¨

The ADO site are the only accurate ones. As said, they do not show schedules far in advance but they rarely change.

One of us probably should mention... If you're not following the other current thread - "Itinerary and transportation advice" - you might want to have a look. The 6:30 M to Ch-I bus is the only one I'd consider if I were planning on a visit that day.
