Paella?

Heading to Merida for the first time this weekend. Anyone know of any places to find a good paella?

I hear that seafood isn't as abundant as it is in Isla or Playa... but with all the Spanish influence in Merida, surely there are some restaurants that serve it?

Thanks!

I don´t know about paella because I have never looked for it in Merida. But I don´t find seafood any less abundant than in Playa, IM or Cozumel.

Spanish influence? Not sure about that in modern Merida. Of 298 restaurants listed here on T-A, I see 5 are Spanish. You are in the Yucatan, habs. That is the specialty cuisine of Merida, and there are a lot of very good examples here....Buen Provecho!

There once was a great Spanish restaurant here, the only one that I know of that might even serve paella. It was located in Parque Mejorada on the western side of the square (across from the church). I can't guarantee it is still there, but i think it is. Anyone else know?

That restaurant was the Segovia. The owner has opened a new eatery, see yucatanliving.com/merida-restaurants/el-sego… for a little more. Of course, no guarantee they serve paella.

It may lack in ambiance and service, but the Costco usually serves paella on weekends.
