Has anyone been to the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya in the last month? Would like to know if the water park is complete.

We stayed at the Mayan Palace on the same grounds as the Grand Mayan 1 1/2 weeks ago and the lazy river and new pool ect . . . is not even close to being complete. I do not know when it plans to be done.

My wife and I were thare in early February and no, it was not completed. It is still very much under construction; can see the metal frames for more giant palapas and the giant trough for the lazy river. It is still a long way from completion.

I just got back on Friday... The river and a big pool for the Grand just opened on Friday. The other pools under the construction won't open for awhile. I believe there is another waterpark that they will build close to the beach, but they haven't even started on it yet. The lazy river pool looks amazing though. I talked to people that were bummed they were leaving before it opened.

They (the river and the pool) were behind construction walls, so most people didn't even know that they were close to being done. They took down the walls on Friday morning.
