We're flying into Cancun (arriving after 5 pm) and are planning to stay that night in PDC before taking the bus to Mahahual and Xcaret for our Christmas/NY vacation. (Yes, along ways away, but being the holidays, I really like to plan early!) Then again on our return we will take the bus back to PDC and stay the last night in PDC before our departing flight leaves the next afternoon.

Where would be a good place to stay? I started to look but there are sooooo many options! I was thinking close to the bus terminal, (whichever one those buses leave from), but with taxis available that's not absolutely necessary. Although I was thinking it would be nice to be close to 5th Ave and the beach, we also don't want to be in the thick of the party area and kept awake until the wee hours. We would prefer something quieter. It doesn't need to be fancy, but not bottom end either. Clean and comfortable in a decent location close to restaurants is all we really need. A plus would be not too far from the beach to go for a stroll in the morning. Thanks.

Not sure if they have a minimum night stay at that time of year, but we've always like La Pasion hotel. Great service, decent location, and awesome pools.

Thanks. I will check it out. Good point about the minimum nights stay. That may limit the options some (although my Booking and Expedia searches still returned a lot of choices!!)

Christmas may prove to be a challenge because it’s so busy. Try La Posada Sian Khan, on 2 Calle a half a block from the beach. Or it’s less expensive sister resort Lab Nah on 6 Calle a half block from the beach. We usually stay one night on both ends. They have a nice breakfast at Sian Khan for both hotels that is included.

Add Hotel Cielo on 4 Calle 40 ft west of 5th Avenue. 1 and a half blocks to the beach and 1 and a half blocks to the ADO bus station. They may be able to accommodate you as well. Because it’s Chistmas season you may need a number of suggestions to find a vacancy.

Thanks! Booked La Pasion for a good deal for the first night. Dec. 19 is well enough before. However, the last night - Jan. 4 is proving to be a bit more of a challenge!
