Riu Playacar or Riu Yucatan

Looking at going to one of the above June 2009. Can't make a choice....

I'm worried Yucatan will be busy with the Tequilla guests using the beach area and that the Playacar may be a bit quiet.

We're a couple (aged 27 & 31) looking for quiet days relaxing by the pool or beach and evenings watching fun entertainment, socialising with other guests and drinks available until the early hours of the morning.

Your advice would be very much appreciated.

At your age, I would recomend the Yucatan. I wouldn't worry about the beach being busy in June, and the Tequilla has their own beach area, albeit it is adjacent to the yucatans.

We have been to the Riu Yucatan 2 times and found that there was not a problem with the guest of the Riu Tequila using the same beach. The pool area, however, does become quite crowded very early. If you want a spot in the shade around the pool that is also near the beach you need to go down early (like 6:30-7:00 am). If you only want to stay on the beach, you will not have any problems finding a lounge at anytime during the day.
