Riviera Maya with Teen Girls

Looking into traveling with families and high school

girls. Do you all recommend Barcelo Colonial?

Parents want nice accommodations and food, Kids

want fun. We want them safe but happy.

Heard one comment on here to avoid at Spring Break,

but the beaches look beautiful. Kids into beach and pool.

Plan to stay on premises with them in evenings.

Playa does not really have a spring break like Cancun. The Riu has a number of great resorts within walking distance (20 minutes) into Playa. Playa is a generally a safe area if you use common sense like in Chicago. Don't walk alone at night or get into a car with a bunch of locals. Teens is a hard age for a resort to service. Lots of fun day trips to take around Playa tulum, zip lines, cenotes, xel-ha plus many more.

Thanks so much

Should I post this on different location

for the Barcelo Colonial?

Puerto Aventuras or Juarez?

Perhaps you should consider the new Dreams resort.

Whenever someone travels with teens, I always suggest staying in a resort that is within walking distance of a "town" whether that is PDC or somewhere else (not sure what Puerto Aventuras has). That way, you can go for walks/shopping/restaurants/people watching if the teens get restless on the resort. If they are active, look for a resort with lots of water activities/sports.

The Colonial is a nice place for kids and teens. Lots to do. Mini-golf, computer games, watersports, basketball, volleyball, etc. Nice beach and pool, as well.
