Walking from Iberostar Tucan

Hi everyone! Just wondering if it is feasible to walk from the IBEROSTAR TUCAN to the main strip in Playa Del Carmen. If it is fesible...How far is it? Is it walkable from the beach or from the street? Any help would be great.

Now that the beach restoration has been completed yes you can walk the beach to town. Should take about 1/2 hour. Or you can walk via the street, approx the same time. Or a 5 minute cab ride, 50 pesos.

Couple of webcam links:

Royal Hideaway is approx 6 resorts north of the IB's and Xaman Ha is almost at the pier.

I just noticed the RH webcam isn't working right this minute but it was on an hour ago.

If you're not a daily walker you might want too save your legs for 5TH ave. 5$ as stated for a cab.

The town just like everyone has said, is 1/2 hour walk.. Keep in mind though that in the Mexico heat it can seem like a much longer trip. If you do walk I would at least plan on taking a cab back. If you walk along the street and not the beach you will come across some Mayan Ruins you can walk around also. It's almost nice to do it at least once but after that we took the $5 cab ride.

Don't overlook Playacar Plaza which is about a 10 minute walk going towards Playa del Carmen. There are many stores and even a Starbucks here. If you walk this far and still feel energetic you can then keep walking toward 5th ave. If not you can always pick up a taxi here or flag one down any where along this street. But keep in mind you probably will be doing a lot of walking once you get to 5th ave so you may want to just take the quick taxi ride to town.
