The Tucan is spotless, has a wonderful staff and has a beautiful beach. Currents kept the oil spill moving away from the Riviera Maya--the water is fine.

My husband and I went to this resort in October. We loved it! Beautiful resort with a very cool jungle atmosphere. The food and drinks were good. The beach was beautiful, white sand and turquoise water. The beds are hard, make sure and ask for a foam topper for the mattress. Other than that, it was a great stay and we will go back again.

If the two 50 somethings are women.....one thing you might want to consider, is that the Tucan's main buffet area (for b'fast, lunch and dinner), the main lobby area/bar and the theatre, are not air-conditioned - in the height of summer months, these areas can become very uncomfortable! - hot flashes experience talking here!...lllolol
