UVC Secrets Maroma

We are also not happy with what we bought. The week exchange with RCI is bull... I tried booking with one a half year in advance and there are no hotels available in the most common touristy places like Paris or Amsterdam. The book they showed us had so many member hotels, but none of the good ones are ever available. We tried checking out the NY Hilton, which is a part of RCI, and they used as a selling point as we mentioned that we wanted to run the marathon in NY. It appears a member hotel but there is no availability whatsoever in the next two years.

I can't believe we bought into this, and I have just started our fight against them, I'm glad to know that many of you have been able to solve something, and some even get their money back. I hope we will be able to do something about this because we still have to pay about 5K in the following years and I don't intend to waste that much money in something that is not what I told it was.

If anyone has any advice for me as to how to proceed I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello Elsa R. We are sorry to hear of your frustration with our exchange program. First, it is important to note that RCI does not own, sell or manage timeshare. We are simply a timeshare exchange company. If you have questions or concerns about your timeshare purchase, please contact your resort directly.

Since RCI is the world's largest vacation exchange company, we are always in a good position to develop relationships with timeshare properties wherever they exist. RCI strives to acquire relationships with resorts in the most popular areas. Where timeshare properties already exist, this is simply a matter of negotiation and determining whether minimum quality standards are met for RCI's program. However, some areas, such as large metropolitan cities, are not conducive to timeshare ownership. RCI has very few affiliated resorts in major cities like Paris, Amsterdam and NYC. As you can imagine the demand for these areas is far higher than the supply we receive. As soon as we receive a vacation deposit from an owner of one of these highly areas, it will instantly match to the RCI member who has entered an Ongoing Search for it (we allow searches to be entered up to two years in advance) and has sufficient trading power.

If you would like us to take a closer look at your account and provide suggestions for exchanging, please send us an email at talktous@rci.com and be sure to include your RCI membership number. We will be happy to help you!

I think you were promised by UVC more than they can deliver. I doubt that RCI has anything to do with it.

You got that right. If they(timeshares) were so good, why are they selling on secondary market for pennies on a dollar, and why there is always such a high pressure sales?

There is another way of looking at it, think about the large commissions these timeshare people make. They have to spend that money somewhere which supports the local economy.

I think that the people that get ripped off by a timeshare, were and and will always be walking victims. If it were not a timeshare, it would be some investment scam, always something for nothing.

I had forgotten about this post. We cancelled our credit card so the automatic billings would stop and that's when we started being taken seriously. In the end it worked out perfectly it took a long thread of emails and phone calls but we were able to get all the money back. Hopefully everyone else will make more informed and researched decisions as I assume not everyone walks out as lucky as we did

I am a member with uvc. We have 2 units a one bedroom and a studio. They are floating weeks January to April and I believe July thru November. We have been traveling to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo, for the past several years during Presidents week. This year I happen to get off 2 weeks in December. We will be traveling to Cancun from Dec. 21 until Jan 3, 2014. The first week we will be on Isla Mujeres and the second week we will be at Villa del Palmar Cancun. Reservations : D0B8DE When I booked this reservation 6 months ago they told me I had to wait 60 days prior before I can move my week at a fee of 70.00. But to ensure I do have a reservation, I was to pay for it in advance, and upon making reservations I would get my money back that I laid out for reservation. Well after several calls there was no availability. The last call to reservations was a few minutes ago,but to no avail. I decided to call the resort directly, not telling them I was a UVC member, and they gave me a price for the 1 bedroom suite which included a free breakfast for the stay at the same price as I was charged being as member, not including any free breakfast.

Now I ask, WHAT IS THE POINT OF BEING A MEMBER ????? WHAT IS THE BENEFIT IF THE RESORT OFFERS INCENTIVES SUCH AS REDUCED ALL INCLUSIVE AND FREE BREAKFASTS. I am very disappointed with the UVC at this time, I called the UVC reservation specialist, explained what transpired and they told me to email member services to see what can be done. So I ask can you offer a reduced all inclusive or free breakfast for this stay?? Your attention to this matter in a timely fashion would be greatly appreciated.

This was just sent to Uvc we shall see how they handle this
