You can take them, no problem. And no need to declare them.

I always pack mine in a zip lock bag and make sure they are new unopened items.

Just make sure that your meds are in their prescribed bottles and you will be OK,I have never had a problem with this method..

Take anything important on the plane with you. Do not check it. And as others said, make sure that prescriptions are in their containers.

I did overhear the funniest thing at an airport once. A man was going through security and had a mixture of pills in a bottle. The security agent took them out and asked what they were. He mumbled something and was politely asked again what they were. He then yelled out "Viagra". The agent quickly put them back and sent him on his way.

I always take paracetamol, gaviscon and diazepam in my hand luggage and have never been stopped about them. I take the Diazepam for flying as I would say they are the ones they could get funny about, but they don't.

I take some fairly heavy medications including morphine and have been wondering if I will have any trouble with that. I have never even been questioned before with some lighter meds, but this has me more concerned. Any insight? I am thinking of bringing copies of my scripts with as I would hate to be on the wrong end of an over zealous border guard.any thoughts or experience with this?

I have friends who often bring "heavy" meds with no problem. Just be sure they are in the prescription container. Of course, bring reasonable quanties so it will be apparent to customs that they are for personal use.

Thanks! I think the key is just what you said- reasonable amounts.

My husband always puts his meds in one of those day of the week pill containers, and I bring copies of the scripts, in case of any questions.

Anyone ever had problems with the Day of The Week Pill containers? We leave in 7 days and taking all the original bottles is such a hassle. Bowndover said it worked for them, but any one else have any coments?

Anyone ever get the red light at the Cancun airport and get searched with meds not in the original container? Again we are talking about a 7 day supply.
