Airport waiting

This will be our first time visiting Mexico. Our friends arrive 2 hours before our flight and we're all wondering if they should wait around in the airport for us. Is there somewhere they could wait comfortably for us or should we just go separately to Secrets Capri? Thanks in advance for any help.

There is a bar outside that serves drinks and small plates. Nothing formal but a decent place to sit and relax outside, otherwise there really is not much there.

I would head to the resort and meet up later.

I wouldn't want my friends hanging around the airport any longer than they have to. Flights can be delayed, immigration lines can get longer, you just never know.

Rule of thumb: don't hang around at airports. Meet at the resort. Simple call.

You need to remember, projected flight arrival time means absolutely nothing. It doesn't take into consideration these simple facts:

Your flight could be delayed

Their flight could be delayed.

Both flights could be delayed.

Clearing immigration alone could take up to or more than 2 hours.

Yup, I'm with posters 2 and 3. Don't hang around the airport for your friends; meet up with them at your resort.

Food and drink are *ludicrously* expensive at the airport. Any airport really, but especially this one. They'll blow all their walking-around money on day one here.
