Cenotes with seniors.

Meeting parents and staying in playacar this September. They are both mid 70's. Very able to get around, but distances can be limited, a mile would be a stretch.

I'm looking for recommendations as to which cenotes would be best to visit. We may rent a car or hire a taxi for a few days. Thanks.

There are several cenotes all together just outside of Playa (a 10 minute drive or so), across the highway from the Barcelo Maya resort. One is Cenote Azul, one is Cristallino & we can't remember the third. All are beautiful and none requires much walking. Have fun!

That cluster of cenotes is actually south of Puerto Aventuras,

By definition I'm a "senior" and have been to them several times.

Further south, about halfway to Tulum, is Cenote Manati at Tankah. Also a good choice since you can park nearby and do not have to walk up or down and stairs. There is also a fun, very casual restaurant right across the road. It is right on the beach and has a great view.

Yes, that restaurant is Casa Cenote and they have a terrific Sunday BBQ - get there no later than 1pm in case they start running out of food.. Went last year and planning on going back this year.

Many types of cenotes

What do they want to see

Mangroves - Casa Cenote - under $5

Open Cenote meets the ocean - Yal-Ku Lagoon by Akumal - 14$ US

Caves - Dos Ojos - $12 US

open in the jungle - a few opposite the Barceló in Puerto Aventuras

Thanks all for the good information. Conversely, are there any you would not recommend, that require a hike off road for a distance.
