airport check in question

Hoping some travelers would know the answer to this b/c I can't find it on the airlines website.

Do all members of our party need to check in at the same time if we all booked together??? It was all 1 reservation through expedia and if we arrive at the airport at different times do we need to wait or can we check in and go through security???

You can check in separately but unless you've got advance seat selection (which usually costs extra), you may not be sitting together. If seat selection isn't done in advance, then it's done when you check in.

I don't know of any airlines these days that don't allow online check-in up to 24 hours prior to departure. You may want to consider doing that as you'll likely have more selection with respect to seat location at that time. If you wait until you physically arrive at the airport, you'll be stuck with whatever is available then.

I'd make a copy of the itinerary for each person checking in. This will have the airline reservation number on it. Probably won't need it, but just in case.

If you weren't able to pick seats through Expeda, depending on airline (we use JetBlue booking with Expedia), just go to the airline's website and put your airline reservation number in and you can pick your seats from the airline's website. You should do this now.

Also good idea to use on line check in as Llisa suggested. If you are the lucky person that gets to do this, make sure you have everyone's passport handy for the on line check in.
