PlatinumYucatan Princess All-suites

For those of you are as excited as I am about what it is going to look like, I found pictures as well as room descriptions on Book-it. I was able to do a mock book for December.

bookit.com/mexico/…

. It looks like they have swimouts as well as poolside rooms. I wonder if it will have its own restaraunts/ buffets

because in the description it mentions only 4 buffets. The resort already has 4 buffets.

Hola takeme2 Coz,

Funny how you did the mock booking as that's exactly what I did! lol

I was able to gather some info from various sources but keep in mind nothing is set yet so everything we're reading is an educated guess.....including the book it info.

It's going to be a stand alone resort. Guests staying at the new resort will also have access to The Princess amenities. It will have it's own exclusive restaurants, bars, pools etc for their guests. I'm thinking it will be like a stepped up Laguna area but that's just my own take on it (as in Laguna guests can use the whole resort but non Laguna guests cannot access the Laguna areas). It sounds like it's going to be AWESOME!!

I have a feeling that the details will be released in the not too distant future. :)

It is funny Book_it lets the cat out of the bag before the Princess does!

It does look awesome, It looks much more compact than the other 2 resorts from the overview.

I can't wait to see it!

We are going to check with Apple to see if they have any info on it since we already booked our vacation with the Platinum Suites.

From what I can tell this is what's happening. The new resort that is being next door to The Princess is indeed going to be called "Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites & Spa Resort". I also checked out the Princess website and they no longer mention a Yucatan AO section (at least I couldn't see it). The new resort is AO. I have been told that Yucatan guests will have access to the Princess resort next door, but Princess resort guests will not have access to Yucatan.

For the Canadians out there, this is from WJ's site.......

"The Yucatan Princess is an adults only resort, taken to its finest expression, with an unbeatable location in front of the crystal clear Caribbean waters, in the heart of the Riviera Maya. The sophistication surrounds you on a resort with suites tastefully decorated with vibrant contemporary design. A perfect getaway."

Beachfront, 50km from the Cancun Int'l Airport. beach access public beach

472 suites 2 floors built in 2014

4 à la carte 1 buffet

24 hour all inclusive

1 nightclub

1 pool fitness centre

I was about to book this new hotel as advertised on Thomson but after a little research I found out that all the bars and restaurants which are advertised as in this 'new adults only resort' are actually the existing ones at The Hotel Grand Riveria Princess and only the accommodation is classed as adults only and not, as made out by Thomsons, the whole resort. More info can be found on www.yucatanprincess.com. This also shows the room choices and levels of service each one offers which again is different to what Thomson have on their website. Thomsons picture of the deluxe junior suite is in fact a picture of the honeymoon suite and the extras which Thomson are advertising with the deluxe junior suite are not available at this level, very misleading. Also the official opening date for this hotel is 23rd December although Thomsons let you book this before this date the lady I spoke to at the call centre today confirmed the restaurants and bars are next door in the sister hotel and also let slip that they cannot guarantee it will be open before 23rd December! At the moment there are too many discrepancies between what Thomsons are advertising (when they blatantly know the info they have online is not strictly true) and the actual information from Princess Resorts.

Thompsans told you the resort is not going to be open before December 23?

Funjet said they are not selling it before December23.

Apple is not selling it yet, but they said they havent signed the contract yet.

Princess Hotels website are not selling it.

The facebook page for Princess Hotels told me they are doing a soft opening in September and a full opening in December.

I am already booked for the GSP Platinum Suitesfor December 14 thru the 18th with Apple.. I have been hoping to change our reservation to the new section.

All this information is beginning to confuse/frustrate me and make me think I better leave my reservations as they are.

I've been looking at this as a potential honeymoon spot for us in May 2014- would be booked through Thomson. Other than the fact the pictures have in tiny writing 'planned appearance' there is no indication that the hotel is not yet open- poor on Thomsons part I think.

So can anybody clarify if the bars and restaurants are on the same site as the accommodation, or would we have to go to a different hotel to eat and socialise in the evenings? This is all misleading on Thomaon which implies it is a complex of its own with 4 a la carte restaurants and a nightclub. Does not say we would have to go to a sister hotel!

Confused!

Their selling this property as an adults only resort not as an adults only section of another resort. I'm sure it will be a stand alone resort with it's own restaurants and bars. Think about it for a moment, 400 plus room's, that's a resort all in itself, it would need it's own infrastructure.

I would have to agree with this point. I think it will have it's own bars/restaurants/pool- but I also think you will be able to go to all the other places at GSP/GRP. In addition, the beach will be shared to some degree which means kids will be there too. I am hoping they would rope off a section to help provide an area that is more adults only.

It will be a stand alone resort that gives you access to the other resorts as well. The Iberostars and Rius do the same thing where if you stay in the "premiere" resort, you have access to the others in the complex. Patrons of the Sunset and Rivera sides will not have access to the Yucatan. The Yucatan will have it's own beach and restaurants/bars.
