Help us pick a hotel!

Hi. We are visiting in January and there will be 4 adults and 2 children (10&12). We would prefer not to do "all inclusive" as we like to explore different local restaurants.

Ideally a good location to explore, good pool, and ideally some snorkelling. Something that will keep both adults and children happy. Budget under $400/night per room.

We are researching the area as well- google/ search Luna Encantada and El Taj (this one has lots of specials) www.eltaj.com - vrbo and other sites....they have lots of 3 bedroom options- good luck!

homeaway.com is associated with vrbo and you can get the space you need, be close to the beach and be in a house (or a townhouse) with that kind of budget. The last time I used homeaway in Playa; I was walking distance (south of the ferry) and had pool priveledges at the hotel around the corner. Good luck searching!

Check out condos for sure as they are a great option. You get lots more room, privacy and less crowded pools. However if you want a hotel I highly recommend Aventura Mexicana.

We stayed at Xaman ha condos in May and had a great time there! On the beach in Playacar which is beautiful. The pool is also very nice. The price for a two bedroom would be around $250 a night in January and around $300 for a three bedroom. It's also a short five minute walk to 5th Ave. Can't wait to go back! Rentals your way did a great job handling the reservations.
