Rui Tequila or Grand Bahia Principe Coba for kids?

Travelling with a 4yr old for 2 weeks in may 2015, grandparents coming too so thought Tequila is better location so they can go out of resort at night but hotel needs to cater well for kids

I have not stayed at both hotels only the Tequila, the Tequila is VERY family friendly.

Agreed. We just got back from the Tequila and it was very very family friendly. The staff went out of the way for the kids and to make them feel involved and comfortable!

Stayed at both, with kids. GBP Coba is part of the ultra-mega GBP resort. Way too big if you have kids. And isolated so you can't easily leave the property. The beach there is not as nice as Playacar. Rooms are nice, a little larger and newer than Tequila.

I think for your circumstances, I'd pick Riu Tequila. You're right about location. Better beach, a little easier to navigate, equally good food, maybe a tip better at GBP but not significant. Kids Club at either takes 4 yrs old & up. Playground at both just ok. Pools equal at both.

And the ride is 45 minutes from airport to Tequila, 70 minutes to GBP.

Also, if you pick Coba, know their new "waterpark" is a very dangerous place. Hope they addressed many concerns about kids' safety. Lots of blood from kids falling down on wet stairs, wood bridge, crashing into each other on slides, unsupervised kids trying to climb UP slides when other sliding down.
