Traveling alone to Tulum

I'm planning a trip to Tulum (and maybe Playa del Carmen) in September and am wondering where a 30ish girl should stay? I'm looking to hit the beach and relax and maybe find some people to drink some margaritas and laugh with at night. Would like to keep budget to around $100 (under even better), and like the idea of staying by the beach but not opposed to staying in town. Anyone have any recommendations of where to stay and places that might be fun to travel to?

Gracias!

should be in your budget range and think it would be a good spot on the beach

Places to have a dring with others could be Casa Banana or Mateos

See this map for a list of bars, beach clubs and hotels

Also go back and read the last 5 pages of threads as there are some great Q & A

September is the quiet low season so prices are cheaper

One thing to consider is September is super hot and not many places on beach with A/C and the few that do are typically rather expensive. Places in town will have more A/C availability. Would check out Hotel Latino and Maison Tulum.

We have stayed on the beach in April (and not sea front) and were fine without it but have heard from a local friend that September is the hottest/most humid month.

Personally do not think Casa Banana would be a good spot to meet people. We have stayed at the hotel NVR and find it mostly couples and families at Casa Banana and it is quite expensive.
