Of course, Bernal and Tequisquiapan are good too. If you do GTO, go through Dolores over the mountains and stop in Santa Rosa at the pottery factory, the stuff there blows away anything in Dolores.

We did a trip to the Corralejo tequilla distillery near Penjamo and included a stop at some ruins nearby. It was fantastic. Our driver also took us to a little taqueria near the distillery where we had the best tacos I've ever eaten for about 25 cents each! It was a bit of a drive both ways but well worth it. if you've ever noticed tall dark blue bottles of tequilla in your local spirits store, they could be from Corralejo.
