Marina Cabo Plaza review

We recently stayed at Marina Cabo Plaza. These condos are all privately owned so our experience may not reflect some of the other condos. We rented ours thru a listing on VRBO. The elevator was being replaced so we had to walk up several flights of stairs with our bags. When we got to our floor there was a air-con uniting sitting on the floor in the hallway next to our door. The condo in general was in need of a good cleaning,ie moldy shower curtain,BBQ was dirty etc. The condo was in very bad disrepair, water leak on the floor in bath, broken towelrack(we had to hang our towels in the halway on some hooks, half of the drawers in the closet were broken and unuseable, baseboards were missing with nails sticking out from the wall. My biggest complaint was the noise. Our room was next to the elevator shaft which was being replaced so the knocking inside the shaft started at 8a.m. and stopped at 6p.m., they were also cutting tiles next to the elevator. There was also alot of noise at night from the clubs until early a.m. and also early morning noise from the fishing fleet business downstairs. It was pretty much 24/7. We were ready to leave after four days and did finally leave a day early. We complained to the owner and he said he would compensate us but never did. I did try and post this review on his website but he didn't approve it since he only wants positive review listed.

Mama,

That is too bad! Sorry to hear it shortened your vacation. What did you pay for the unit in comparison to a regular resort? Was it a smoking deal, was equal to or more? Was there some disclosure to the construction taking place at the plaza? Cabo is growing like wild fire and definately going through some growing pains.

Best to you,

We paid around $85.00 per day so thats probably considered cheap for Cabo. When we emailed the owner about the noise he said he was unaware of the construction. We got much better deals for weeks at Playa Grande and Solmar for only $329.00 per week. You can find these on the web thru several sites. They are open to veterans and govt. employees.
