Cruising to Cabo San Lucas

We just found out NOW that we will not be going to Mazatlan, and that we are going to CSL, for a longer period of time.

We do not snorkling, but love the beach, as well as shopping, etc.

What is there to see/do there, now that we are staying over night and not leaving until the next afternoon?

Would we be better off taking a Taxi, or getting a tour guide that is "reasonable" in price to show us CSL?

I would glady skip Mazatlan in favor of spending more time in Cabo. They are in stark contrast to each other. Mazatlan is a huge city...very busy, Cabo is much smaller and not nearly as crowded.

If you like to hang out at the beach, as you get of the cruise ship tender in Cabo, walk around the marina and get a water taxi to Medano beach ($5 per person...5 minute ride...have them take you by the arch). Have them drop you off at the Mango deck. It is the major beach bar on Medano beach (there are many others along the beach as well).

No need to hire a taxi to show you the town...basically all you want (shopping, beach, clubs, restaurants, etc are all within easy walking distance from the dock.

If you want to do any activities or tours, DO NOT book them on the ship.....they will cost you much more than booking them at the marina.

Thanks for getting back with me.

So once we get off the tender, we can walk all around town for shopping, etc., right?

You said Medano Beach is about 5 minutes away. Is that by walking or Taxi?

Since we are staying "over" until the next afternoon, what would you suggest that we see/do in that period of time? Since we are not going to Mazatlan, I'm trying to find other things to see/do while in CSL.

To put things in perspective for you, take a look at the map link below. Your ship will be anchored in the middle of the "bay"....you will be taken by cruise tender ship to the dock on the lower left hand side - just inside the entrance to the Marina. Medano beach is the long strand of beach.....Find the "ME"...those red squares just below it are where you will want to go....Mango deck, Baja cantina, etc.....you will take a water taxi (small boat from the dock to Medano Beach) have them take you by the Arch and seal rock on the way...it might cost a couple of extra bucks...but worth it. You will also go by Lover's Beach (a crowded tourist trap in my opinion). The main "city" of Cabo is to the Left of the Marina and along the Marina.
