Cabo Time Share Trip/Scam?

My wife and I are thinking about going to The Royal Solaris in Cabo for their 5 day 4 night package. The price is incredibly low but you have to agree to a 90 minute sales pitch they have for their time share program. I know that 90 minutes can quickly turn into 3 hours and my wife and I have no intention of actually buying a time share but I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if it is worth it?

I have read the Terms and Conditions and we would not be committed to anything other than the tour, but I wasn’t sure if it turns into a high pressure thing?

I did the same thing at Villa Del Palmar a few months ago,5 nites for 2 AI $499.It was a great deal.2 hours including breakfast.RS is in San Jose, not Cabo San Lucas, that is your way out of there quickly.Don't ask any questions and you should be fine.I have done several TS presentations in the past, but never at the RS,and I stayed there twice.

I would read the reviews about this resort and also post on the San Jose forum with your questions before you decide to go. That is where it is located, which is about 20 minutes from Cabo.

This hotel does not get favorable reviews for the most part- it is a budget all inclusive and attracts lots of kids- good if you have kids as they have a kid's program, bad if you are looking for an adult get away.

We stayed next door to it several years ago and did walk over there to take a look. It was not somewhere where we would want to stay but we do not have kids.

Any thoughts on the Villa Del Palmar? It looks as if it is right in Cabo.

VdP used to be the place I would put clients with kiddos back when I was working....don't know much about how it's held up, but the location was decent, and kids seemed to love it.

I really enjoyed the VDP.There is an adults only pool if you wish to use it.They have some activities going on during the day(volleyball, bingo, trivia games, etc.)Also have entertainment at nite, included in the AI(Mexican fiesta, casino nite,karaoke).20-30 minute walk to the marina or short bus ride.Catch the bus right in front of the property, goes to Walmart first, then turns around to town,8 or 9 pesos.I would definatly stay there again.Only down side, bar closes at 10:00.

I will second staying at the VDP. We were there last June and no it is not a 5 star but the staff and facility are very nice. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean.

Nice proximity to town, either by foot (about 20min walk) or by bus/taxi. No close hotel to the left of it on the beach so traffic is not as heavy as to the right towards town. Swimmable beach and three pools. One is a quieter right on the railing overlooking the beach and El Arco. The other pools are very lively.

I will agree that VDP seems to attract a lot of families, we were there with our 19 year old. However, we did see many couples too.

I will conclude by saying we read all the reviews and were a bit nervous at what some had to say. Take them with a grain of salt because all of our concerns were a waste of time-it was a great vacation.
