Hotel prices - more expensive this year?

Been going to Cabo annually since 2008. Looking to book a hotel for April, looks like the hotel prices are higher than has been in the past. Interested in what people think about this.

From Canada prices are not expensive to me.

Ex: Jan11-17 Wyndam Cabo San Lucas Resort is $616 for a week and that includes all transportation, taxes and your airfare from Vancouver. Prices in low season last year (May/June and Sept/Oct were cheaper) That is Canadian dollars of course and can be less than 2 days pay for myself and many Canadians. Secrets Puerto Los Cabos is going for $1661, taxes and airfare included from Vancouver.

Hard to say about April. Remember Easter Sunday is April 20.

Good luck in your choice.

The Mexican government just raised the taxes in Baja California to match those of the rest of the country. As of January 1st, the sales tax is 16% instead of 11%. Plus, some items that were not taxed before, such as pet food and soft drinks are now being taxed. This means that for those of you that drive here with your pets, you will only be allowed to carry a small amount of pet food before duty is assessed.

Taxes and fees at Casa Dorada are ridiculous. 10% resort fee and also 19% in other taxes. $2700 hotel charges + $785 in taxes and fees, ridiculous.
