Yes, they have a swimmable cove just out in front. Enjoy! We loved the resort.

Its one of the few resorts that has a swimmable beach right in front. There is a rock jetty across part of the area that makes a protective cove. The sand beaches in this part of Mexico are grainy so bring some beach shoes for those tender tootsies.

This beach also has some fish so bring the snorkle. Nearby Chileno bay and Santa Maria bay are wonderful beaches to swim at and the best for snorkeling. You need a car to get to those beaches. You can take the bus and walk from the highway, But its more walk than most would be happy with.

If you have Binoculars bring them. Lots of whales to look at. Pods of Porpose jumping along with rays comming high out of the water almost looking like birds as they clear the water.

Aussiegirl002 - If you like to see colourful fish, go down to the beach with a water bottle with some bread and water in it so it breaks the bread up in pieces (give it a shake). If you float around in the water closer to the rocks in the protected cove, closer to the shoreline on the Melia Resort side (right beside the Hilton) you'll see fish. For whatever reason the fish are drawn to you by squeezing the water bottle and making the plastic bottle crackle in the water, they come to the noise and then take off the cap and let a bit of the bread/water combo out and enjoy the show of beautiful fish.

The Hilton always has red flags out on the beach as a warning, and the area directly in front of the hotel should be avoided for swimming when conditions are rough, but you can safely swim at the cove near the jetty almost every day. There are tons of fish to see as well, but some days the visibility is better than others. When conditions are calm, snorkeling is fabulous near the rocks between the Hilton and Secrets Marquis.

Does the Hilton prevent non-Hilton guests from swimming in the Cove? We will be staying nearby and wanted to check it out

Hi Simon,

Not at all, the Cove is for anyone to swim in whether you stay at the Hilton, the Melia or any other hotel, condo, etc. it's open to anyone to swim.
