Beach at Casteldacchia

HiThere

HAving never been to Sicily we area thinking of renting a villa, Lori, that it situated on the beach in Casteldaccia. In the photos the beach looks pristine and empty but we were wondering what it would be like in July?! Also does anyone know if we are within easy walking distance to some restaurants/bars and shops for grocery shopping?

Is there another area we should be considering (silly question I know but don't know the island at all!) We are a family group with grown up kids (16-21, all boys) and like peace and quiet but with the ability to walk to evening meals/drinks. By the sea would be wonderful but not essential!

Lots of questions but many thanks in advance for any help you could give us.

Hi. Casteldaccia itself (the town) is very near the sea but not right on it, so the villa should be somewhere on the nearby coast, perhaps near S.Elia/Solunto area...the seaside is fine in the area, and Capo Zafferano is very scenic, but it is near Palermo, therefore crowded in summer, especially on weekends...it's impossible to say more without knowing exactly the location.

It's strange that they don't give any kind of information about how to find/reach the villa...public transport is poor in the area.

Hi Biondo

Thanks so much for your kind reply, we are now looking at the east coast as we couldn't really work out where the other villa was!

Difficult to know where to start on such a big island so any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks again.

You might consider the beaches south of Siracusa, the further south the better, and also the beaches in Ragusa province, the province in Sicily that boasts the most Bandiera-Blu awarded beaches in all of Sicily.

Have you found anything that interests?
